Having spent some time working from home, you may have found that it’s time to invest in a more comfortable workspace for all of those online meetings. One of the most common recommendations to add comfort to any workspace is to purchase a standing desk. But what should you look for when choosing your desk? Here are a few tips:
- When it comes to the mechansim, electric or pneumatic are highly recommended. Manual adjustment desks require far too much work to properly adjust, and will discourage switching during the day.
- When it comes to weight capacity, most standing desks have plenty of capacity for typical desktop items. But, if you know your work requires heavier items, such as a desktop computer, to be on the desk, then make sure the desk you choose has a stronger mechanism.
Now that you’ve chosen a standing desk, don’t be quick to get rid of your chair. While you may no longer need an expensive, ergonomic chair, the best way to work is by alternating between sitting and standing throughout the day.
