Clean spills as quickly as possible. Because laminate is porous, the longer stains sit on it, the deeper they can become trapped. Even when mopping your laminate flooring, make sure to use as little water as possible, and do not mop often.
When cleaning marks or stains, avoid using any abrasive tools. Laminate is soft and can scratch, leaving a permanent scuff on its surface. The same can happen if you track stones or gravel in from outdoors, so make sure to have a welcome mat at your door, or before your laminate.
Finally, avoid using general-purpose cleaning solutions. Many chemicals are harmful to laminate flooring so only make use of laminate-specific cleaning products.
