When you are considering a remodel of your home, there is an important question that you should first ask yourself – Why am I doing this?

You either want your home to look better for yourself and your family, or you are expecting to sell your home soon and want to make a better profit. However, if your motivation is the second reason, you might want to reconsider.
According to one estimate, only 50-80% of the money that you spend on a remodel is reflected in an increased sale price. This means that a large part of what you spend on your remodel is wasted. If you choose to do something that is much less costly but still makes a big impact you are more likely to make a profit. Painting and landscaping are very solid choices to improve the appearance and sale price of your home.
